When the Legends Die

What I think will happen to Thomas Black Bull is that the White Man’s world will cut down the forest, in which he lives, and build there. Thomas will be forced to accept the loss of the old times and enter into the new world being created.

I think that, in the book, Thomas tries to hold onto the ways his father and mother taught him as he re-enters the world and is accustomed to the ways that he isn’t used to. Thomas finds a new reason to hold onto the old ways, but uses the same reason to accept and live in the new ways.

“When the Legends Die” means is that the new world will consume all that Thomas was taught, about the old times, in its attempt to continue to grow to support the ‘need’ that its people feel. The title means that those still holding to the old ways will give up their pride and let go of the old ways, giving into the newer ways.

I think that this happens all over the world. A lot of forest are being cut down for new hoses and for lad to put buildings. That means that all that live there have to adapted to the new environment. This also sound to me like disividualization.
