Traditions and Rituals
Tradition is something people do for a reason, but don’t think about it. Just like Christmas celebrations to each person means something different to each person. Some may say its just a holiday, while others will have special memories attached to the holiday.
One of the traditions I have with my friends is on holidays, we each bring enough of something for everybody to put into a banquet. We feast like a family and share stories.
A ritual is something some one does and it has a deep and personal meaning. A ritual can be as simple as my foster family’s “Family Prayer” each night.
One of my rituals is my Wiccan magic rituals. Each spell and potion mean something different. So I do “Wiccan Rituals”.
-When you realize something you had never noticed before. And you go” Wow Hu?”
There was a song I used to listen to all the time and I never paid much attention to what it said. One day I was listening to it and went “whoa!” I realized just what it was saying. It was amazing!

CJ,
I just wanted to say that I really enjoyed reading your post. It is very cool that you and you friends share that tradition with each other. I do something similar, which is every last week of summer me and my friends get together and share stories of some of the best times we had while hanging out all summer. I just wanted to also say that at the very beginning when you commented on how some people view Christmas differently, that was very good. It's a great writing technique to try and address what people might say if you know they might not totally agree with you. Good work.

I think you are right. Tradition is something do for a reason. You really can not make up a tradition. It kind of just happens.

I think you are right. Traditions are without thought a lot of times. I also think that traditions and rituals are important to different people. I say this is a piece of good work. Nice job.

You talking about the tradition you have with your friends on holidays makes me a little sad. It brings back the memories of Christmas with my brother, Boyd. Our tradition was that nobody could open presents until he was awake. I miss him. Ha ha. He was usually more excited than us for Christmas.
